VTC Future Skills Community Event - IVE IT Discipline
The most recent VTC Future Skills Community Event (9 – 11 Dec) was successfully concluded. Through highlighted activities such as Industry seminars, VIP Tours, and thematic projects exhibitions, IVE IT Discipline gave industry partners and public an insightful peek into the cultivated effort of our Vocational and professional education and training (VPET).
IT Discipline demonstrated total 14 digital exhibits, enabling visitors to taste the uptrend development of innovation technology, as well as understand our practical learning and teaching through the applications development for enhancing quality of life. IT Discipline gathered a number of industry leaders, experts and professionals to participate in themed seminars covering the topical issues relating to Metaverse and Cybersecurity and visit our innovative and award-winning inventions and creations through the ITD VIP Guided Tour.
In the themed seminar ‘IT Enablement for Metaverse & User Experience Enrichment’, Mr Raymond Poon, Vice-Convener of Special Interest Group of Metaverse, NFT and Art Tech opportunities, FHKI Group 25 of Hong Kong Information Technology Industry Council and, Mr Yao Zhu, Metaverse Solutions Expert of GrowthEase Limited shared on the evolution and future development of virtual world; and explored how the technology embraced this new wave.
Another themed seminar ‘Urgency and Impact of Cybersecurity on Digital and Smart Era’, Mr Alex WONG, the Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Officer of Huawei International Co. Limited and, Mr Fuller YU, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Hospital Authority shared the existing security vulnerabilities on digital and smart era and the importance of Cybersecurity development.
The event provided a platform for prestigious experts, talents and academia to exchange valuable insights and as well as to foster more industry collaboration.
