    Program Aims

    The programme provides students with professional knowledge and skills in computer software development, systems/networks installation, maintenance, operation, administration and support with a balanced curriculum in theory and practical content.

    This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.

    Graduates will be able to take positions as technical supports, technicians, programmers, systems administrators, network engineers, and any ICT related career.

    Vplus Subsidy Scheme

     

    As a part of the Vplus Subsidy Scheme, Vplus Creative Industries is supported by the HKSAR Government to encourage working adults to pursue higher qualifications for career advancement and to promote lifelong learning. 

     

    • Successful applicants can be reimbursed 60% of the tuition fees paid for the programme, maximum HK$36,000 per person. 

    Entrance Requirements

    Holder of S6 (NSS) Qualification :

    Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; OR VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate; OR Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin; OR Equivalent.

     

    Remarks:

    1. An "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in an HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2", "Level 3" and "Level 4" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose.

    2. A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.

    3. Applicable to holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules).

    4. Upon completion of the Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) Programmes, students can progress to higher diploma programmes in VTC, subject to their BTEC and IGCSE results.

     

     

    Holder of S7 Qualification :

    One HKALE A-Level subject / Two AS-Level subjects at Grade E or above AND Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or Equivalent.

     

    Remarks:

    1. Successful completion of one Applied Learning (ApL) course recognized by the Education Bureau in or before 2010 is comparable to one HKCEE subject pass.

    2. HKCEE English Language taken in 2006 or before should have attained Grade E or above (Syllabus B) / Grade C or above (Syllabus A).

    Professional Recognition

    The programme is recognised by the Hong Kong Computer Society as satisfying the academic requirements for its Associate membership.

    Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.

    ~ The delivery sequence of Whole Person Development modules will be allocated in any semester which depends on the offering of these modules and the restriction of students’ maximum credit value per semester.
     
    ^ Applicant may apply for exemption of the module if either he / she has full-time employment in relevant trade or is competent with his / her work.
     
    # Exemption will be granted for students who are the holders of valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate for the four modules : 1. Introduction to Networks, 2. Network Routing and Switching, 3. Advanced Network Routing and Switching, and 4. Connecting WAN.  Credit transfer will be granted for students who have passed the VTC offered Professional Certificate for Cisco Certified Network Associate (IT524101P) for the four modules.
     
    ## Exemption will be granted for students who are the holders of valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certificate for the seven modules: 1. Introduction to Networks, 2. Network Routing and Switching, 3. Advanced Network Routing and Switching, 4. Connecting WAN, 5. IP Routing Implementation, 6. IP Switched Networks Implementation, and 7. IP Networks Troubleshooting and Maintenance.  Credit transfer will be granted for students who have passed the VTC offered Professional Diploma for Cisco Certified Network Professional (IT524104P) for the seven modules.

    Note :

    All students will be required to take and pass all of the Structured Whole Person Development modules before graduation. Students possessing at least two-year full-time work experience (from the date of attaining the qualifications that can meet the entry requirements of Higher Diploma Programme) can apply for module exemption subject to passing the related assessment.
